11th and 12th Grade Field Trip to the Phoenix Art Museum!

11th & 12th Grade Field Trip to the Phoenix Art Museum
Wednesday, March 21st

We have an exciting opportunity coming up for our 11th and 12th grade students. On March 21st they will be visiting the Phoenix Art Museum for a guided tour of the museum's collections.  Students will have a chance to see paintings by Monet, O'Keeffe, and Picasso, to name a few.  They will spend the morning strolling the galleries and sharing in conversations about the artwork.  This is sure to be an amazing experience and highlight of the year.

Please email Ms. Harris if you have any questions. Students will be gone from
periods 2-4.

Headmaster Letter

Dear North Phoenix Prep Families,

What a tremendous week we had!  The Weinholds enjoyed cheering on the Gladiators who were playing for the Middle School Baseball Championship this Friday.  Though they ultimately lost the game, they can certainly be proud because they defeated the #1 seed to get into the championship.  Our team is young and strong, and from what I saw on the field the future looks bright for our baseball program!  On that same Friday, our faculty traveled to different locations across the valley for a Great Hearts in-service day.  All of us enjoyed a theatrical performance.  Some attended a performance of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, others of Macbeth, and still others a rendition of Homer's Iliad.  Such are the activities of a community that is intellectually, morally, and aesthetically alive like ours.

As we pivot forward into a new week full of vitality, I want to update you on the work that we are doing to provide our students with a safe recreational space during the twenty or so minutes between the opening of our campus and the first bell.  Because our courtyard space was built at an incline, the safe space that's available for catching & throwing is not sufficient to meet student demand.  Our team has been working hard to find an alternative space that we can feasibly monitor in response to this difficulty.  The most workable solution that we have found comes from our comrades on the Archway side, who have generously offered the use of their outdoor basketball court & artificial turf play space.  But because that space is on the other side of campus, it will require additional monitoring to ensure student safety.

This is where I must appeal to our parents for help.  We do not have a sufficiently large faculty to accommodate these extra monitoring duties, so in order to make Archway's space available for Prep use, we need several parents to volunteer.  Anyone who is interested in helping us monitor this play space should contact Ms. Coughlon at

We have a fantastic week ahead of us, Gladiators!  Let's live it to the fullest!

With Devotion,
Headmaster Weinhold
