Headmaster Letter

Dear North Phoenix Prep Families,

The Weinholds were moving last weekend, so that's why the headmaster letter went on a brief hiatus. We are still getting settled in our new home (much closer to the school), but we have an internet connection now, so the headmaster letter is back!

Whenever our family has moved, it's reminded us what's essential, and it's left us with hearts full of gratitude.  In the summer of 2014, Shelly and I trekked across the desert from Texas to join Great Hearts because we felt called to the mission of cultivating hearts and minds through the pursuit of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty.  This most recent trip was just across the city, but it was another opportunity to re-evaluate what's really important for our family.  Living close to North Phoenix Prep means not only a shorter commute, but also an investment in the future education of our children, Edmund and Sophia.  It means a chance to deepen our friendship and community with the people of North Phoenix Prep.  For us, these are some of the highest goods that one can ask for in life! Reflecting on this together, Shelly and I realized how thankful we are to be part of this community. It's truly a privilege for us to be Gladiators!

As with my family, so with our school.  North Phoenix is about to move into our forever home! That's a significant achievement, and it's also an opportunity to consider what's most important, i.e. the relationships that we will take with us into that new campus and the common mission that we share as a community.  It's an opportunity for us to remember that a school is so much more than a facility. We can remember that it is, at its core, a partnership between families and faculty in the service of students.  At the same time, we can have hearts of gratitude for the amazing campus that we are on the cusp of receiving, a home made possible by the generous gifts of our families!

With Devotion,
Headmaster Weinhold
