Tax Credit Goal Almost Met! Deadline April 15

It’s crunch time and as of today, we only need three more tax credits to reach our goal.  Not only will meeting our goal allow us to continue providing a robust selection of clubs and athletics at North Phoenix Prep, Mr. Topper has promised a “Dress Down” Day for the students as a celebration of our efforts.  If you have yet to make your 2015 Public School Ta Credit contribution, you have until this Friday, April 15th.  Contributions can be made online HERE.

Drachma Wars Continue - Last Day Friday Apr 15

The competition has heated up. As of Friday, Mr. Trevino's class was in the lead! Students and faculty are having a lot of fun competing for the chance at the winning spot.

April 4 through April 15 the NPX-PSO is collaborating with the Student Senate in support of a community service project. The Drachma Wars is a spare change drive with a goal to raise $1500 in support of the Greater Good fund. In their first period classrooms, students will compete to raise the most spare change. Copper (pennies) & paper (bills) count as positive and silver (nickels, dimes, quarters) count as negative in the change jars. Please save your spare change for your students to bring in during the Drachma Wars!

Many Maryvale Prep and Teleos Prep families come from low-income neighborhoods and rely on their Great Hearts school communities to provide them with basic resources to help their children succeed. Here are some examples of how donations from this spare change drive will benefit these communities:
A gift of $25 provides one week of school supplies to a Title 1 classroom
A gift of $100 supports K-8 Special Education and ESL (English as a Second Language) materials
A gift of $250 offers professional development opportunities for teachers at our Title 1 schools
A gift of $500 helps low-income families with the cost of school uniforms
A gift of $1,500 sponsors a Title 1 student’s comprehensive Great Hearts education
