Homework Club begins August 10!

The NPX Homework Club Begins August 10!

Homework Club is continuing for the 2017-2018 school year!

From August 10-August 25, families will have a daily option to choose for Homework Club until co-curricular programs begin the week of August 28.  After that, families will need to sign up for the Fall Term, which runs from August 28-October 31.
Sign up here:

Beginning the August 28, families interested in Homework Club will need to purchase the Fall Term, which runs from August 28-October 31.
Sign up here: https://northphoenixprep.configio.com/ShoppingCart.aspx?com=detailview&iid=519&&returncom=productlist&source=search

Questions?  Email Ms. Hilliard and Ms. Leahy at thilliard@northphoenixprep.org, mleahy@northphoenixprep.org for more information.

How the program works
Homework Club is open to students in grades 7 – 12. It operates every full school day (excluding half-days) from just after school until 5:00PM.
Once you register and receive a confirmation email, print your confirmation email and have your student bring to the first day of Homework Club to the teacher monitor.
Upon dismissal at the end of the day, students will have about 15 minutes to gather their belongings, have a snack, and proceed to the Homework Club room, where they will sign in.
If students have clubs or need to attend tutoring with a teacher directly after school (prior to the start of Homework Club), they may sign in to Homework Club once they are finished.
If students have tutoring, clubs, or other school obligations during the hours of Homework Club, they may sign out to attend to them, and then return to Homework Club.
Parents do not need to communicate to us which days their children will attend; parents are responsible for instructing their children which days they should attend Homework Club, and which days they will be picked up.
We do not assume responsibility for registered students unless and until they actually sign in to Homework Club. Once they sign in, we will be responsible for them until parents pick them up and sign them out, or until they are dismissed for athletic practice.
A charge of $1.00/minute will be incurred for late pickups (after 5:00PM).
Students who are picked up after 5:00pm more than once within a semester may be dismissed from Homework Club.
Extra-curricular teachers reserve the right to dismiss a student from a club for any reason.
What Homework Club is...and NOT
Homework Club is a safe, structured environment in which students may quietly work on homework until their parents arrive to pick them up or until they are dismissed for athletic practice. While we allow for quiet peer tutoring, it should be notated that Homework Club is not a “tutoring service”. Homework Club monitors will be happy to answer the occasional question, but they will not be able to work individually with students for extended periods. Students who require individual tutoring should make arrangements with their teachers, or they may take advantage of the peer tutoring option that is offered during Lyceum.
Homework Club monitors assume that students will work independently on their homework, and that, once their homework is finished, they may read appropriate selections, work ahead, draw, et cetera. Monitors will not be checking to see that each students has finished his/her homework; completing homework is each student’s responsibility.

Headmaster Letter

Dear North Phoenix Prep Families,

Almost there!  The first day of school is this coming Thursday, August 10th.  I can't wait to unveil our campus to the North Phoenix community, and I know that all of you are eagerly anticipating that special moment.

I believe it was Winston Churchill who once said that we shape our buildings, and thereafter they shape us.  During the past few weeks, our faculty and staff (along with a few dozen construction workers) have been working hard to ensure that our new campus shapes our students' souls in the right ways.  We are hanging tasteful artwork to cultivate their aesthetic sensibilities; we are thoughtfully arranging desks and chairs to harness their intellectual attention; we are deliberately structuring our movement within the campus to promote moral goodness.  All of these efforts (and so many more) are the result of our passionate commitment to the work of classical education.

Please join me in giving a special word of thanks and encouragement to our front office team for their tireless efforts this summer, and especially during the past several weeks.  Their selfless hearts of service really do make a huge difference for our Academy!

With Devotion,

Headmaster Weinhold

P.S.  Have you had a chance to review our traffic procedures for the new campus?
