Headmaster Letter

Dear North Phoenix Prep Families,

This past Friday I took the faculty for a tour of the new campus.  This was a special opportunity for us to capture the vision for our new facility.  It was such a delight for me to witness our teachers' gleeful excitement as we visited classrooms, labs, art and music rooms.  Everyone was full of joy at the prospect of moving to our forever home in just a few short months!

As enthusiastic as all of us are about the new campus, we are circumspect enough to realize that a new learning environment will certainly present us with challenges both logistical and cultural.  A school is much more than a building, but the space that we inhabit can inform our daily work in subtle and important ways.  For some months now, the leadership team and I have had our eyes keenly focused on this next important phase in the growth of our school, and I remain ever confident that we, together with the faculty, will face each new challenge with courage, prudence, and relentless good will.

Our families no doubt also have many questions regarding our first year at a new campus, and so I have decided to focus on these in the headmaster letter from now until the start of school next year.

Question: When will North Phoenix Prep start and dismiss each day next year?
Answer:  We will start at 8:10 am and dismiss at 3:20 pm.  On half-days we will start at 8:10 am and dismiss at 12:35 pm.

Though we have all enjoyed the ample parking that Dream City's campus affords, the campus traffic pattern on our new campus requires us to stagger our start/dismissal times with Archway.  This will certainly be an adjustment for our parent community, which has until now had easy walk-up access to the campus.  In our new facility, picking up and dropping off students will be a far more vehicular process and far less pedestrian.  Several parents have already suggested after-school socials at Venuroso Park across the street from the new campus.  This is a great solution that could organically address our families' desire for quality time together.

With Devotion,
Headmaster Weinhold
