Dear North Phoenix Prep Families,
Last week I attended a Math symposium with several of our math teachers. One of the speakers at the symposium was Dr. James Tanton, who demonstrated the way that two concepts, area and symmetry, can provide a unifying narrative for mathematics from kindergarten through calculus. It was really quite fascinating, and the fact that our teachers receive this opportunity to explore new ideas and discuss teaching strategies with their peers is just another example of benefits that come from being a Great Hearts academy.
Also, we had a tremendous turnout for our Great Hearts Information Night last Wednesday. It looks like even more families are interested in joining the waitlist for an education in Truth, Goodness, and Beauty at North Phoenix Prep! I am especially proud of our Seniors, who served by leading campus tours for prospective families.
Finally, I'd like to express my gratitude to our high school students for stepping up & working with Ms. Coughlon and Dean Schripsema to develop a plan for keeping our courtyard clean. By taking responsibility & by leading their fellow classmates, our high school students are demonstrating their good will and nobility. Kudos! Our students make me so proud to be a Gladiator!
