After School Clubs - Knitting & Drama
Lyceum Clubs - Math Counts & Journalism

  • Tuesday Lyceum- NPX Math Counts team is looking for a few good Mathletes! We are preparing for our competition against other schools in the region which will take place in February. MathCounts will meet every Tuesday for the Lunch/Lyceum Period starting September 15th. Students are invited to drop in to learn more about becoming a Mathlete.
  • Thursday After School OR Friday Before School - Drama Club is for students interested in performing, directing, writing plays, scene and costume design. The North Phoenix Prep Drama club begins next week! Students have a choice of Thursday after school or Friday before school to participate. Drama Club will work on improv, theater scenes, character development, and much more with an end-of-the-year performance.
  • Thursday After School - Knitting Club is for students who already know how to knit or crochet, students who have never picked up a needle, and anyone in between! Sign up for the whole year, come hang out an knit anytime.
  • Thursday Lyceum- Informational meeting for Journalism Club which includes: the Yearbook and a student blog, Gladius Acerrimus (The Sharpest Sword), which will feature campus news, examples of academic excellence, and student’s own creative writing, photography, and art. Students are invited to drop in to learn how they can contribute. 

Sign-ups for Rocket Club, Chess, and French Club are still open.

Hearing & Vision Screening Week of Sept 14

During the week of September 14, Mrs. Krich, our school nurse will be conducting hearing and vision screening on all 6th grade students, 9th grade students and any student regardless of grade who is new to NPX this year. She be screening students on the following schedule:

  • Monday, September 14, all 6th and 9th grade students. 
  • Tuesday, September 15, new 7th, 8th, & 10th grade students. 
  • Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of that week she will seek out the students who were not available on Monday or Tuesday.

7th Grade Parent Meeting - September 16th

NEW: Grade Level Parent Meetings

Mr. Topper will begin a series of grade level meetings for the first semester. The meetings will occur on Wednesday mornings at 8:10 AM in the H (lunch) building. He will present the grade level curriculum and teaching priorities for that grade level, discuss the goals for the year and skills that students should be developing.

He will also bring one grade level teacher to the meeting. Parents are welcome to come and share their grade level focused questions for discussion.
  • Grade 7: Wednesday, September 16th 
  • Grade 8: Wednesday, September 23rd 
  • Grade 9: Wednesday, September 30th 
  • Grade 10: Wednesday, October 7th

9/17 - Headmaster Coffee & Book Discussion


Mr. Topper invites you to join the discussion on September 17, 8:15am-9:15am.

Over the next few coffee meetings, he will be discussing the book Excellent Sheep: The Miseducation of the American Elite and the Way to a Meaningful Life by William Deresiewicz
If you would like to borrow a copy, feel free to drop by the office and ask for one.

Attendance & Make-Up Schoolwork

Please make every effort to schedule appointments for your student before or after-school. If your student is absent, they should do their best to get assignments from a friend. In the event that they can’t contact someone that day, they can speak to another student the following school day.

9/18 - Early Release

Friday September 18th is an Early Release Day. School is dismissed at 12:30pm for Teacher In-Service

Late Lunches

If you need to bring a lunch in late for your child, please check in with the office and then place the lunch box in Building H (Lunchroom). Students are instructed to look in the lunchroom for their lunchboxes.

Tuesday September 8th. Please be sure your child is dressed in correct uniform attire. Forms were sent home with your child. If you need an additional copy, please ask Mary Brems in the front office.
